Jacques Fresco et. al. have a beautiful vision for a utopian world....but it assumes the competetive nature of the human spirit could be changed and erradicated in an instant.......and that the absolute centralization of all power isn't a dangerous precursor to catastrophie (zealots, control freaks, eugenicists, robots, etc.........kind of a major oversight if you ask me........

@Krivaka by free system do you mean a free market system? If you understood the Venus project, you'd understand that it wouldn't be possible for an EMP bomb to go off, or if it was, there would be system security coupled with system insurance. The Technology is all there for this. Besides that, everyone would have what they need in terms of resources and there would be no incentive for such an EMP bomb or hacking the grid. These notions come from conditioning, nothing else.

@DesignsThatMatter There isn't any perfect system but a free system is better than a system that is controlled. A couple of my friends are all about this Zeitgeist Venus Project thing but it's seriously never going to work. Central planning doesn't work. What happens if an EMP bomb was to go off? How would this whole machine society work then? How would it be rebuilt? What if someone was to hack the grid? Aside from that we lose our freedoms to control what we do. It's just plain fantasy.

One reason that I like TheVenusProject is because they openly say, "We don't have ALL the answers."

Which is why they stress the importance of having open communication of ideas from everyone to find the best solutions available. I could go on about this. Too bad Alex misses the machine vs man concept. Sounds like he has too many questions about TVP to formulate a strong & valid 'opinion'.
