don't know much about cars, but i was wondering...would putting a performance chip in a 335d significantly affect its gas mileage in a negative way?

Interesting Philip. You doubt, that my 335Ci (Dyno 326hp) goes in 11,5 sec from 100-200, and you ask whether this car (stock 286hp) which is going in 11 sec 100-200 is tuned?

No 335d is quicker then the 335 from 100-200 or at anything. The 335 has shorter gearing, and a much higher and free reving engine. Its why an M3 is still quick despite not having alot of torque. A chip tuned 335d ( which this definitely is) is a different story. A procede or xede 335 will rip pretty much anything a new ass. When they release v2 with like 430hp, it will really be the best bang for your bucks.

NM is used at low revs, that's were the 335d will win it from a 335i (580Nm vs. 400Nm), at high revs you need power, and that's were the 335i wins it from the 335d. I admid I believe this 335d is tuned aswell.

ummmm dude i read ur comment about 4 times and still doent make that much sense yes hp does make ur car rev faster and what not but a bmw 335i againt the diesel i can see the diesel being faster from 100 - 200 becasue diesel uses high level of TORQUE and moderate levels of HP. the amount of TORQUE that a diesel has stock a gas engine wil never have there fore yes disel is faster from 100 plus acceleration .... stock of course

i woildn't buy a diesel becouse all its power is at low revs (no arguing) i mean u push any diesel over 3750 its done.. Diesels are not good for a track. And someone commented on diesel being faster from 100 to 200.. it just isnt, becouse at that speed (high revs) hp comes in hp also allows engine to rev faster so diesel would outperform petrol on a daily regular pull from the lights at norm revs.

Acho que só em algumas situações muito especificas e a fiabilidade recente-se bem com repro. Ainda para mais um motor state of the art como este.

Abusar disto dá, como é óbvio, problemas.

Para não se partirem turbos, rebentarem cam's etc etc é preciso muito cuidado, muita sorte e uma repro feita por quem sabe o que neste motor não é fácil pois como existem poucos e poucos estão mexidos torna-se complicado.

A 335 is completely underated stock, its putting out over 450nm and 330hp. Chipped they are doing near 400 atm with over 550nm. No doubt there will be 500hp upgrades for these cars.
