An intriguing look at the complexity of issues that led to 9/11 and radical Islamic terrorism. Shot on location from Baghdad to Saudi Arabia, Producer- Director ,Niki Nicastro McCuistion and her team , Dennis McCuistion, narrator, Phil Smith, lead camera, examine the historic conflicts in the Middle East and the role of the US in its " war on terrorism". The documentary, includes interviews with government officials, scholars, students and the every day man on the street.Originally scheduled for airing on KERA ,PBS Dallas,in Januray of 2006, the controversial doc was protested by a Muslim group , the Freedom and Justice Foundation, for so- called innacuracies and bias. Refusing to acknowledge defeat or compromise her work, the Producer , Niki McCuistion ,met with the Muslim community and its opposition, and on her own dime, made numerous trips, back to the Middle East, and captured interviews that bring the doc up to date and lends it more strength and objectivity. The result, a balanced perspective on the situation from 9/11 to now.
@unsheepled while we'll still disagree on bin laden's alleged cia connections, your research is spot on...we certainly were providing aid to the opposition party before the soviet invasion. the idea was to provoke the soviets to secure their "interests" with an already unstable pdpa ruling. it did. during the cold war the soviet and american governments used the globe and the oppressed for the deadly game of chess.

@unsheepled And that very day, I wrote a note to the president in which I explained to him that in my opinion this aid was going to induce a Soviet military intervention. "
Zbigniew K. Brzezinski job was to radicazlize the muslim resistance..People like Osama bin L. were on CIA payroll until the day of 911.
And now that tool works for OBUSHama

@Relistener
Brzezinski: According to the official version of history, CIA aid to the Mujahadeen began during 1980, that is to say, after the Soviet army invaded Afghanistan, 24 Dec 1979. But the reality, secretly guarded until now, is completely otherwise Indeed, it was July 3, 1979 that President Carter signed the first directive for secret aid to the opponents of the pro-Soviet regime in Kabul.

@unsheepled the u.s. didn't create al-qaeda. al-qaeda spawned from the soviet invasion of afghanistan and served two primary purposes: 1. train muslim fighters coming from all over the globe to fight the soviets, and 2. create a locator/register of all these muslim brothers to help respond to family inquiries about their status. stinger missiles in the hands of the afghani mujahadeen is proof enough of a cia involvment...but, there's little support "al-qaeda" and the cia ever cooperated.
