Darren, Jared, and I hiked this abysmally short hike (1 mile roundtrip!) that was completely overcrowded. We only did it because we were preparing to leave the park and we decided to hit one more trail before ending the trip. That said, we ended up seeing A LOT of wildlife, including an uinta ground squirrel, a couple yellow-bellied marmots, a bull elk, and one up-close coyote. (A note on the latter: don't ever get as close to wildlife as we ended up being. I didn't realize how close he was until he passed us by. Even though the coyote likely wouldn't have hurt us, you're supposed to give wildlife space and we failed to do that correctly. So, do as I say, not as we did.)
Is it me or did I notice a radio collar on the coyote?
