  • I really like the blade on the Warlock with dark blue and yellow, how did you do that? Just getting ideas as I prepare to paint mine, I like your multi coloured theme, it works well, although mine will all be in IDIC colours of course

  • @IDICBeer what do you mean mate? the tones of yellow? and blue? if so black undercoat then a light dusting of white undercoat spray, then I literally started with light yellow over the white and worked backwards, so starting with my lightest colour and then added shade to the model so I reversed the usual style of dark to light, my space marines vids they are yellow, but gritty and dark.. where as the Eldar are bright and Alien looking. Hope this helps hit me back if not mate.

  • @IDICBeer I see, apologies. Well this was a n experiment for me to be fair. I started painting the whole blade black then I painted .the lightest yellow I could find applying really thin coats along the edges and started to build a flame effect on the middle of the blade adding in more yellow and then a light addition of some red with some small orange highlights I think, it took a while but I was please with the results does this help? mate

  • @IDICBeer it was kinda like looking at one of those fake gas fires you can get even add a touch of blue if you fancy it? for the base of the balde? perhaps

  • @vanhammer73 cheers mate. love your stuff mate, any tips or feed back is well received!

  • cheers guys and Gals.. still got loads to learn mind I think, I jsut cant seem to get the transison/ blend between the colours and highlights down unless I spend ages.. I mean like 10 or more hours per model... any ideas??

  • @dunk1978banker Thanks for that, i'm still unsure on how to paint certain things on them yet. I will get the purple and white out of the way and work from there. Still got some green stuff work to do on them first though

  • @dunk1978banker Thanks for the explaination, but sorry, I meant the blade on the witchblade sword on the Warlock that was dark blue and yellow. Sorry I wasn't very clear

  • Excellent choice of colors! I love all the highlighting

  • im liking what you got so far man. but the black to a real bright blend will take time , only fast option i can think of is a lighter base up to a bright.. sorry i cant be more help im more a mods guy than painter ;(
