you dont even know him to judge his music. you know its takes a big imagination to come up with his act, and to make music too...he gots to be smart. what, do you want him to recite the U.S. Constitutuion in one of his songs for you to shut up?! oviously he is much more wise than you. lets see...his dream has come true, and lets see.....you hate comments are going to leav a GREAT legacy nobody will forget!

Hahahaaha. Okay.. who is a genius then? And what exactly is ''intellectual music''? Give me some examples. He's still a great singer and if you don't agree with that your an idiot.

klaus nomi is probably one of the most amazing singers of all time. along with david bowie, freddy murcury, and danny elfman. you know the guys who helped form music as we know it now. so the people who jump on the fact that he was gay need to sit down and reavaluate there lives

So, just out of curiosity, what do you define "genius", and "intellectual music" as? I'm going to say that "genius" might not be quite the right word either, but it's probably the closest word in English. Maybe "visionary" would be more precise. Even if it's not your thing (and it's not really mine, either) one must recognize that the "out-there" fringe artists pushing the envelope provide inspiration for more conventional acts, and therefore are critical for progress of the arts.

First of all, let's look at some of these lyrics.

Listen to me, baby, you got to understand, you're old enough to learn the makings of a man.
Listen to me, baby, it's time to settle down. Am I asking too much for you to stick around?

Every boy wants a girl he can trust to the very end.
Baby, that's you, won't you stay? But til then
When I see lips begging to be kissed, I can't stop, I can't stop myself!

Lightning's striking again!

Nobody in their right mind would call this "genius".

It's a cover of a Lou Christie song, Klaus didn't write the lyrics. Don't talk about what you don't understand.

I honestly can't say if Nomi was a genius or not, but I know that a good bit of the music that was to follow him in the eighties appeared to show his influence, from Grace Jones to New Order and more. Obviously, his stuff strikes a modern eye as garish and over-the-top, but man what a range (compare with Pete Miller of We Are The Willows) and I can't help respecting someone brave enough to be that fiercely individual when there wasn't anyone else that extreme around.
