Paris Hilton talks about time in jail

Hello on this Thursday, June 28, 2007. I'm Rebecca Field with a UPI entertainment update.

Paris Hilton is speaking out about her time behind bars. She made her first post jail TV appearance last night on CNN's "Larry King Live." Hilton said it was a traumatic experience but it has given her a "new outlook on life." She also told King the poor choices she made in the past have made her who she is today. Hilton said she now wants to use her celebrity power in a more positive way.

R&B star Usher is going to be a dad. The singer and his fiancé Tameka Foster announced they're expecting a baby in the fall. The two have been friends for nearly seven years. They started dating seriously about a year and a half ago. Usher's currently working on a new album "Confessions"...due out later this year.

There's been a great loss in the world of women's fashion. Designer Liz Claiborne has died at the age of 78. Her assistant says she passed away Tuesday after fighting a long battle with cancer. Claiborne founded her clothing company with her husband in 1976 and is known for designing apparel for the working woman.

Rockers Alice Cooper and Marilyn Manson will reportedly perform together for the first time. They'll appear on stage Sunday at a music festival in Romania. There has been known rivalries between the two hard rockers. But both artists are famous for putting on shocking performances.

"American Idol" will head to San Diego for the first time. The Fox show announced they'll hold auditions in the city for next season. Tryouts for the seventh season in San Diego start on July 30. So far other auditions will be held in Dallas, Atlanta and Philadelphia this summer.
