  • What are you trying to say from this video I'm missing the message

  • @nycwiseguy91 You came to the party late. The commentator stated, the "dam broke" during the live broadcast. I went to grab my camera to capture the rest of his commentary and what I did capture, well you can view the rest of the broadcast here for yourself. My reaction, OMG Katrina all over again! As you can see, the dam did not break which is a good thing.

  • break..you do mean over the top right? not the whole dam..right ?

  • @howardb42006 According to the commentator you are correct. Remember the New Orleans flood back in 2005. The water was going over the dam until the pressure broke the dam...

  • @secretsoftheengima thanks for the clarification...

  • @howardb42006 NP Don't forget pray for the victims. Thanks

  • the dam was breached! Not broken...

  • If the dam had broken, the water level in Prattsville would have DROPPED, since it is UPSTREAM from the dam, which was retrofitted in 2004 to fix structural issues. I guess they actually did secure it.

I have been going to that area for 30+ years. Just look on google maps. Follow the creek from the reservoir in a SE direction and you will find Prattsville(S/SE of Gilboa). You can also see the town of Prattsville being at a higher elevation than the Schohaire reservoir.

  • lol gilboa is right near me, that dam didn't break.

  • yehh i happen to live in Mburgh NY nd the dam NEVER broke, now the schools have emergency evac plans IF it ever broke, which is not likely.

  • This is a VERY important story for anyone who lives in the shadow of the NYC DEP's reservoirs. GOOD to see so many views! Here are a couple of other YouTube videos that show the devastation the DEP helps cause:

The Delaware Floods and the NYC DEP

The East Branch Floods. Devastation in the Town of Colchester, NY

Also Google "DAM FAILURE" DEP Downsville, NY

  • New Orleans was horrible because the was no help accepted by the administration in charge at the time. We haven't begun to see the flooding that's possible one planet Earth. One gallon of water weighs over eight pounds, now imagine billions on billions of gallons of water move at an unstoppable rate. Wake up to that!

  • Good information in comments here. What happened to North Blenheim? I know the covered bridge was destroyed, but Eastside Road on east side of State 30 east of North Blenheim, and how about the current regular bridge that crosses Schoharie Creek at Blenheim?

  • The Dam DID NOT Break....the water just went over the top.....

  • @Shocked6302 Cobleskill, Middleburgh and Schoharie would have been in the path if the dam broke
