In this room, every day, at the time the Cathedral bells ring the "Angelus", girls combine their voices and a magical atmosphere takes hold of the environment. It is the power of the most sublime of the arts: The Music.
Before the first chords, they repeated the greeting of the Archangel Gabriel: Hail Mary! With this attitude, claiming the presence of plasma Angelic Choirs for their harmonies at the time of close contact with the Beauty of God. Among the many titles given to the Queen of Angels, one in particular is the favorite of Girls: Saint Mary of Montserrat. Says an old legend that Holy Image was found by pastors around the year 800 in a mountain cave.Every Saturday at the twilight, they saw lights that came down from heaven and came at a point of rocks .. Its founder meets then director, Father Ireneu Segarra, to study with him the vocal technique that was taught to boys. It was the mysterious presence of the Queen of Angels in those mountains in the voice that shapes those boys that "SOUND" inexplicably beautiful.The Escolania of Montserrat definitely sings with the voice of his Lady. No other explanation can fit in this miracle of music. It was in 1976 that The Petropolis Girls Choir begin their story on the day that we celebrate the Assumption of the Virgin into heaven. Each of the members that pass through the choir, when they received their choral robes were dedicated to Mary, always invoked with the title of Our Lady of Montserrat.Since its headquarters are located in the historic center of Petropolis, the image of "La Moreneta", placed in a niche in front of the house, bless all who come in peace to hear the sweet singing of angels. In 2002, thanks to Minister Carlos Melles, the girls went to meet his Patron feel close to the beating of your maternal heart. Had the honor and privilege of singing before the Throne of the Virgin of Montserrat, called "The Throne of Sweetness", and in the end, together with the Escolania, sing the Virolai. A Nossa Senhora de Montserrat elevo a minha alma através do canto, agradecendo pelo seu colo, levando-me a nunca desistir. Que ela continue iluminando a vida de cada uma das Meninas Cantoras de Petrópolis.
