Terrible call all the way around. Even if the LJ felt that forward progress was stopped and the ball dead in bounds, he can still see the chains if it's a first down, and should have stopped the clock for that. The white hat should have killed it as well, so he blew the call just as much.

Its time that these officials start getting sat down for a game or two and sent to a rules refresher course when they blow the most obvious calls in football. If you can't perform the job, if you get sat three times, you're out...go call Little League games. NCAA football doesn't have room for these buffoons.

Bad reffing indeed, but between Paul Johnson being a dick to the refs, and you guys continuing to whine about it, you'd think you lost the damn game. Get over it, IMO.

Unfortunately, Poor ACC refereeing has become extremely common. I can't locate it (would appreciate if someone would find it) but there was a poll in the off-season amongst players about how good their conference refs were, and ACC refs scored the lowest. I believe they were around 40-50% with the next lowest being above 60%...
