I kinda have a problem with militant atheists. First it's bit stupid, to commit your whole life to fighting something, in this case religion. Also their focus on rationalism realy reminds me of the stuborn position of the religious people. Sure an atheist will point out, that their position is based on facts and the religious is based on faith, but in the end it is just beliving your eyes and ears... not the most reliable thing, as I have learned.

@thebahana Well it also lead to some major missteps like the german nazi ideology or the russian communist ideology. I personaly think, that the scientific method is the best, we currently have, but I am very concerned by some people treating science like something absolute and 100% right, making science some sort a religion that way. In my opinion this kills one of the core elements of the scientific method: the constant doubt in what we belive to know. "I know, that I know nothing."

@RoberttheWise Science doesn't claim the absolute truth. It goes for best explanation based on the evidence that we have. Science is not a religion because it does not have supernatural elements mixed in.

@chica0616 How about this. Did someone in your family, like a great grandfather, ever go to jail for anything? If so, should you not be jailed? That's the logic of Christianity. All humanity is being punished because of original sin. And if god was all knowing, why the hell did he put the tree of knowledge in the garden of Eden in the first place? That would suggest original sin is his fault.

@flushy2009 Here's something. Even if ghosts do exist, or some form of afterlife does exist, (and there is still no real evidence to support that) why does that suggest a god has to exist? There could be any number of reasons. And here's something else. If ghosts are real, they are energy. Which means they can still be destroyed. All that energy could be pulled apart. heh

@chica0616 Babies born with double gender, babies born with extra limbs called parasitic twin, blue babies that are born with their blood flowing the wrong way, babies born with cleft lip... Also google Progeria, and i can keep going on and on about what is unnatrual... Why does god let this happen? Have you seen the mermaid girl, a girl born with her legs fused at birth? Or lets talk about the swin flu, why did that virus evolve from pig flu and bird flu? I can keep going on and on..

What choice? You're asking people to sacrifice their conscience or go to hell, this is blackmail. It's the equivalent of putting a gun to someones head and saying "love me or die", how do I possibly love someone who is terrorizing me?

And to address the whole "we choose to reject god" argument; I cannot reject something I don't believe exists to begin with. It's just a manipulative tactic the religious use on those who aren't convinced of their sales pitch

the only thing i am going too say is this.(SCIENCE).as prove of the afterlife in todays technology with audio video equipment.so science was created by a god or a higher power me i believe in god and jesus just look at all the facts from the past 50 years of useing technology people can be so close minded when they dont want too open there self up.just do some reseach of the paranormal and the supernatural.try paranormal state they are the most legit groub of researching.god bless all

@RoberttheWise This isn't militant though. Militant implies a firm declaration and/or order that you must obey or face consequences right? So, religion is militant. This is just expression. There are no consequences or threats issued. They freaking send you a book and dvd if you deny certain beliefs, and do nothing to you if you don't.
