The Smithsonian will open the new National Museum of African American History & Culture on the National Mall in 2015. Lonnie Bunch, the museum's founding director, takes us to the storage facility where we look at artifacts that will be on display in the new building. Watch the FULL PROGRAM: http://cs.pn/zHNaxX. American History TV's American Artifacts airs each Sunday at 8am, 7pm & 10pm ET on C-SPAN 3.

  • It's wonderful and long overdue that this museum is going to be built. However, I wish they would also build some wings with displays to show how blacks benefit enormously from being grafted into a Caucasian society and, too, also show the black crime epidemic going on with videos and newspaper clippings of the thousands upon thousands of Caucasians that have been murdered, raped, car-jacked, robbed and beaten over the years by black thugs. Unless such facts are added this will all be a farce.

  • Um, can you go back the Negroes WAY BEFORE coming into captivity on this "free" land, the world calls America?

Until then, I'm not interested. How does seeing Ali's helmet ( which obviously didn't help him) benefit our children from generation after generation? OUR HISTORY DIDN'T BEGIN WITH ALI! DAMN THIS F*CKED UP MUSEUM!

  • I thought the head gear was going to be from Joe Lewis .
