3/27/11, I watched the funeral procession for Officer Elmer "Buddy" Christian go down the main highway in Athens, Georgia. From beginning to end, the procession took 50 minutes. I took 29 minutes of video and cut it down and sped it up to show you just how massive this display was.
The video was meant to be fast-forwarded/skimmed thru because 8 minutes of watching cars drive by isn't very interesting. But to cut it down even more wouldn't show just how incredible this was to witness.
There were cops from towns all over Georgia as well as some cops from South Carolina; Charlotte, North Carolina; Oxford, Mississippi; and even Arlington, Virginia!! There were also some Federal Vehicles including Homeland Security. At the end, the tow trucks in town that help the police finished the procession. I thought that was neat. :)
I apologize for my case covering the camera. Its the wrong size but I can't bring myself to buy a new one.
It seemed every ACCPD cruiser was in that procession, it was a truly amazing sight, I've never seen anything like it.
I hope I never see it again, at least not under similar circumstances.
Rest in peace, Buddy.

Great video. It's a true shame this all had to happen. Amazing how the community came together to support this fine man.
