Frank Morelli, one of the world's most experienced, talented and respected chamber musicians, presents a series of lessons on bassoon technique and repertoire. In the first section the focus is on breathing technique and proper warm - up excercises. The second lesson focuses on a transcription for bassoon of an operatic aria by Mozart, as a vehicle for discussing the development of a lyrical, expressive style of playing. In the final section the topic is orchestral repertoire: Morelli discusses the vicssitudes of ensemble playing, from intonation to rhythmic precision. His student is the highly gifted Joshua Firer.

  • What is the point of these videos if you interrupt the teacher in the middle of his sentence, before he has enven begun to properly explain what he is trying to get across? This is literally done with all of the three excerpts here and it's infuriating!

  • Well they just want to give you a taste, so you'll pay for the real information

  • That's fair, but I don't see how they think they'll manage that by irritating people.
