Some friends and I went into the Baltic Fleet last Saturday and had a great time playing traditional music and the odd sea-song. We were welcomed with open arms, the beer was great and a good time was had by all. We hope to go back for another session sometime soon. Oh, and no-one was shanghied! ; )

The price of the bitter has gone up by 35p a pint. The food is still quite poor. In the 1970s it was a good pub, but the ale was poor. Now it's a poor pub with good ale. The Ship and Mitre has it beat for ale, The Crown is better for food. In fact, Subway has better food! Once Stan retires there's no reason for anyone to go there.
food is superb, and every main meal is under £8.00. all the glasses are pint to brim as well. as a regular for 8 years the pub is doing really well and can do without negative comments like this. no wonder pubs are shutting when you have people like this slagging them off. LONG LIVE THE BALTIC FLEET

Great ale, but the food is bloody awful. Not only is it cold when it arrives, it has items missing and is well overpriced. The place needs a good clean and a lick of paint. As I say, the ale is great, but they've stopped using the 'line' pint glasses and started using the ones you don't get a full pint in.
