@Zac5377 Nobody *needs* to go to a bar. It's not a necessity like food, clothing or shelter. If you go into a bar that allows smoking you *choose* to take the risk of exposure to second-hand smoke. You might prefer to go to a bar that does not permit smoking but if that option does not exist that's just tough luck. You have no more right to a smoke-free bar than those with peanut allergies have a right to demand Nestle produce a peanut-free chocolate bar.
@studentofsmith@studentofsmith Okay... but the thing is that people are affected by the smoking right? Not doing anything will simply achieve nothing. Being allergic to peanut wont affect those around you but being a smoker will~
But hey, nvm. Some people smoke, nothing happens to them. Some others may get cancer. Hard to simply state that smoking harms the health cos there will always be people who says that they are still alright.
For now, I will just focus on myself. My health more impt:)
@Zac5377 It's even simpler than that. Recognize that non-smokers have no more right to a smoke-free bar than alcoholics have a right to an alcohol-free bar. What's next, peanut-free chocolate bars for those with allergies or maybe meat-free restaurants for vegetarians? When did your "preferences" as a consumer become a right to have those options available?
@JimmyeDallas Sure but then they wouldn't be addictive and the Govts wouldn't be able to collect the Billions & Billions & Billions in tax revenue they steal from smokers every year. They will NEVER give up this tax revenue from smokers ... it just goes up & up & up. Then you have the Tobacco lobbyists that contribute to politicians. Like anything ... just follow the money.
i dont think it's that complicated. Make a bar for smokers, let it be sponsered by the govt. Make another one for non-smokers only. This is by the private business. Smokers will go to the bar by the govt and one of these three things will happen.1) They will realise their error, quit smoking, or at least in bars. 2) They will continue to stay, probably immune to the effects of smoking. 3) They will choke and die. In the end, all ends well. The non-smokers will not suffer second-hand smoke at all
the employees dont have to work there. why dont they quit?
