Honoring Street Fighter 4, I bring you a series of epic battles from past Capcom titles and other games influenced by Street Fighter. This is "Double Dragon V: The Shadow Falls" (1994, Tradewest), the final Double Dragon game to come out for the SNES. I remember watching the Double Dragon cartoons
as a child and it was pretty awesome back then. It was two brothers who had special powers and fought weird looking bad guys....they were basically the superheroes of the 80s, a decade so enamoured with fantasy and martal arts. There's been plenty of DD games in the past, but all of them have been side scrolling beat-em-ups. It only made perfect sense to make a fighting game, and "The Shadow Falls"
is the end result. Some of the level designs are pretty unique, very cartoony style, and the characters
I barely remember from the show are in this game. The gameplay just doesn't progress the genre
in any way shape or form. It's an average fighter at best, but the license is enough to keep DD fans
happy.
