As you stated, an apology from the cop would be a gesture of goodwill and I think, a good start. But I doubt that will happen.

You are also correct, but at this point, I doubt the cop will apologize for whatever reason. To me, the cop's actions smacks of racism, but unfortunately, I don't know what the solution is for that. Even if the cop apologizes, it probably won't be genuine and things will continue to stay the same (ie People of color getting harsher treatment and stricter sentences for crimes/misdemeanors/etc.)
I want to see to see more balanced & fairer treatment for all, especially minorities.

Also, the MA cops, etc should realize he just called the ACTION of the Police that PARTICULAR DAY OF ONLY THE POLICE INVOLVED as "stupid" (which it probably was.)... He never, never, never called anyone stupid. Even an average fifth grader would understand the action was being called stupid, not the person or people. Why can't the grown up Cops understand that???

Pres. Obama is only trying to keep the peace - even though he is correct the first time. Try to cut him some slack on this one. I feel sorry for him because he can't express the truth (or his almost always good opinions) without people getting their underwear all twisted up.

How is "cutting him some slack" consistent with "holding his feet to the fire"? He's the President Of The United States with executive authority (police are in the executive branch). Or, is "executive authority" only for signing statements, illegal spying and protecting Americans from their Constitution?
At 3:17 he still disagrees with the conduct, but still felt compelled to apologize for calling an abuse of power "stupid".
Tell THE COP to apologize instead of having a nice chat. At least.
