Ron Paul: the government forcibly takes your money and inefficiently allocates it to help the public. Say it builds a road. Anyone can use that road. But that road was built off the back of a person who was productive. Should the next productive person who uses what there is be penalized for his use of that road? No.

Me: All people had equal access and use of the infrastructure made by government. so we should tax people based on their use of the infrastructure (think tolls).

@adf6875fads976dsaf76 no, the money doesn't disappear - it goes to government workers, contractors, and recipients WHO THEN SPEND IT ON GOODS, HELPING THE BUSINESS. Wealthy people, on the other hand, hoard most of the money. Money is useless to the economy until it's spent.

That's why government spending has multiplier effects (it creates $3 for every $1 it takes).
