Right and since the public school is is bad and the good schools cost so much money to get in for children in lower income families that have high GPAs homeschooling is the best option at the moment. Independent learning is where we can rebuild our education system again. There's no way to stop the Teachers Union from what they are doing to the system unless the people actually push for it. I'm sorry but I would rather have my child homeschooled than to send them to these garbage public schools.

Democracy? LOL If you want democracy, you've come to the wrong place. The US is NOT a democracy, it is a republic, the rule of law. Democracy is the rule of the majority, where the 51% can impose their will on the 49%. This famous quote sums up democracy perfectly: "Democracy is two wolves and a lamb voting on what to have for lunch. Liberty is a well-armed lamb contesting the vote."

Yeah, I love Ron Paul and Rand Paul is growing on me, but this notion that Elizabeth Warren is wrong is preposterous. I cannot fault Dr. Paul in any other position or response that he has given, but this response was simply beneath his standards. What I like about Dr. Paul is his honesty, but if he believes any of the garbage he just spewed here, it's like peeling back the paint and seeing somethin' scary.

If kids only learned "whatever they wanted" we would have more generations of moronic and misinformed people that will be our future.

I am willing to bet you have not been to a modern public school system since what you say about them is insanely ignorant.

You are still wrongly assuming that all public schools are good for is indoctrination. And you are way off base.

How good the public schools are varies greatly from state to state and county to county.

I can say 100% without a shadow of a doubt that I learned much more in school especially in regards to math and science, than I could have ever learned purely from my parents.

I agree with reform, but getting rid of public school all together is not even close to being a solution.

And who says parents can't make time for their children? It's a all about how you organize your life. If a parent really wants to their child to succeed then they will make time for it. Going along with the same type learning that repeatedly does not work will not change things. That's where the public school system fails. That whole system either need to be redone or done away with.

Wrong. The public school only teaches kids what they want them to know versus having kids learning whatever they want. With homeschooling kids can learn as much as they want for as much time as they want without being caught in a system of distraction from other classmates or jurisdiction from a school administration. The public system is set up just like the prison system, just grooming children into being worker bees rather than trying to expand their knowledge.

It seems unbelievable to me that this woman actually thinks success is derived from collective action, through police forces, road building and so on. If that is how every single rich person gets rich, why are there so few rich people? How come every person in America isn't wealthy? And notice, the examples she cited are as local governmental expenditures as you can get. I see no reason for me, an Illinois resident to pay for a new street in Boca Raton, FL or something.

    Championing,

    Verb

    Support the cause of; defend.

Home schooling is not a reasonable alternative to public schools. Even if parents had enough time to be home teaching their kids and not at work making enough money to keep from being foreclosed on, they would not be able to educate themselves enough to keep up with the wide range of knowledge that kids can learn in public schools. I can personally vouch that there are good public schools.
