Not a chance, Mamet, like most of his film work, is very manipulative. Remember, he is the only one who 'knows' if he has been asked a certain question before. So unless he was feeling generous, we can assume, they never got the drink.

While he may be manipulative (is he really and unnecessarily and self servingly?) he does not strike me as a liar. Do you think he is? As a former congenital liar, I can usually recognize them/us. Thanks.

I think he is a trickster, i haven't seen many interviews with him, but, i am familiar with his work. And as you probably know, his films and plays all contain some sort of immoral element, ussually a minor con scam (Edmond) or a film built around manipulative scams (House of Games, The Spanish Prisoner)- he certainly seems to get a kick out of faulse pretense.
