they were more of just a classic rock band than grunge but that was their era so get called it but thank god they got out of hairband shit

i always say that thier genre was called "alice in chains" lol but yeah ....they are like metal/grunge whereas nirvana was like punk/grunge...i think grunge is just a feeling u get when u listen to SG nirvana AIC PJ STP ...theres like a certain feeling you get with those bands even though they all sounded different...
