@talaxian1 It took him years to gather everything he needed and edit it together, so, even though the trailer came out years ago from the stuff he already had, the rest held up the project until he was able to release it last November.

@talaxian1 The trailer for the movie was made years ago. Eugene Roddenberry has been working on it for that long because he had been going so in depth. Mostly, he was trying to gather a lot of usable fan footage and archival stuff. He knew we appreciated Star Trek, which is his father's legacy, more than he ever could, so it was important that fans had a prominant contribution in the final footage.
