Our first-ever summer camp was truly a week to remember. The campers traveled to our New York Shelter and spent lots of time caring for, learning about and hanging out with our rescued farm animals. The girls enjoyed presentations on nutrition, activism and vegan cooking demonstrations. There were also all the traditional camp activities such as crafts, a bonfire complete with vegan smores, hiking, swimming, and girl bonding. We can report a few mosquito bites, but luckily no poison ivy!

  • Schools should have mandatory trips to the sanctuary. Creates animal empathy and veganism. Awareness and education at a young age is key

  • I love Farm Sanctuary so much! How inspiring...

  • I would love to come there.

  • @Pernest63 A friend of mine went to a slaughterhouse once for her school field trip--freshly made hamburgers were given to the students. He told me he almost had a heart attack. Honestly THAT should be the mandatory field trip--scaring kids straight 0_o

  • how do I get into this??? :D

  • Wow, excellent idea. Keep it up.

  • It's so wonderful !

  • Monnmaniacx3 Im sorry but the camp is not running this year. But it could possibly run the summer after. But if you're 18 you can intern there :)

  • @Sportsluva08 Do you know if they are repeating the camp this year? I would love to partake in such a wonderful experience :D

  • Farm sanctuary is an amazing place!!! The camp was amazing too!! I have been vegan now for almost two years and going to this camp really helps show what I am doing this for.

As for the WWF thing that is BS. One meal with meat and dairy equals more than 40 vegan meals.

  • I just found out about this place today, it looks pretty cool. My wife and I have been vegan for two years, and I think we might have to visit there this summer.
