Winter night, a solstice in time
The starry sky shown as the bright sun
Messengers all clothed in white
Said do not fear, for Christ is here,
lying in a manger, come to bring you joy and peace

There I looked, and there I did see
A newborn babe lying in the feed
Dozens there were gathered to see
A little boy, the savior king,
blessed incarnation, come to bring our victory

Who are you, to come in this way
The son of God, as poorest of men?

Forevermore, my love is yours,
unforeseen grace, God's eternal mystery
