  • actually i thought the euphonium solo was quite decent. no doubt there were things that could be improved, but overall i thought it was well done; good job. there are things in this video that i would much more readily criticize.

y0u did a better j0b than what i usuaLLy hear fr0m different bands...s0metimes euph0nium players c0mpLeteLy miss n0tes and just skip t0 the Last n0te.... as far as the bands perf0rmance as a wh0Le... there were aL0t 0f parts where the band wasnt t0gether. w00dwinds werent t0gether 0n the tripLes in the beginning and brass didnt hit s0me n0tes that i feLt were VERY imp0rtant in this piece... 0n a scaLe 0f 1[l0w]-5[high] i give yaLL a 3.. just my 0pini0n!

  • I am the euphonium soloist in this piece. To be honest, I wasn't very pleased with the solo, but thank you for the compliment. As is usual, I had better ones in rehearsal, unfortunately my air flow was inconsistent which resulted in poor cut-offs and inconsistent pitch. However, this is just self criticism stemming from the fact that I am usually never satisfied with my own performances. The entire piece, however, sounds really good with the full ensemble.

  • whats with the twirly things at 4:00?
