  • I'm looking into buying the STL 36" K-Force, but I have one question; I have a pre-existing Whelen switchbox in my car (ten swtiches), can the STL bars easily be wired to non-STL controllers? Thanks!

  • @PaganFirefighter I wouldn't advise using a normal controller because there are so many wires. Another thing is you will need the controller that comes with it to change the patterns unless you use a momentary switch. Also you would mess up the warranty that comes with it. Just my advice....

  • @ncc0wby1 Awesome, thank you. I think I can 'hide' the STL controller and wire it to my pre-existing box, so that by flipping the switch there would turn on the STL controller. (I'd just leave the STL switches on the 'on' position.) We'll see if that works. Thanks for your help!

  • @PaganFirefighter Yeah man, I guess instead of running your hot wire to the battery you could go into your controller. Leds dont pull a lot of amps but make sure you have a strong enough fuse to handle it. Let me know how it turns out. (This would also save your warranty)

  • How did you get the wire through to the cab?

  • @swatlowkey So how do you like it?

  • @PaganFirefighter yeah thats what i did to my direction ace 8 just hot wire to outside control box all switches left on.

  • I love Speedtech. I have the STL Grille Pro in my side window, STL Dual Pro in my front window, STL Quad Pro in my back window and soon the STL Cube 150-Watt Speaker hooked to a Federal Signal touchmaster. The lights have never failed and move traffic easily.

  • @ncc0wby1 I think i just died a little inside, im looking into this lightbar and im trying to see if i can do it w/o drilling.

  • @swatlowkey I had to drill a hole in the roof.
