No, a sane Israeli wouldn't come back to Israel when he can make so much more money in the U.S. Nor would an American Jew leave a comfortable job and home to come to Israel. You don't have to be crazy to live in Israel...but it helps! :)

I do not think that a sane individual would come to Israel after having his career and family life established in another country. Yes, sometimes people do come back, but they come back mostly due to severe personal circumstances, or a job offer that was given to them in Israel due to extreme connections and protection. The vast majority is not coming back and is not concerned about their children calling them Daddy in English or any other language.

It comes to show that terror can happen anywhere, and the they're not safer in usa than in israel. The chase after the golden calf and the comfort of the material will lead to germany in the 40's. Being expelled from israel and banished to the exile was a punishment, but somehow over the years it became a good thing. The jews' only nation is israel and in anywhere else they are guests, until god will make them want to come back to israel - how? not in easy ways.
