The Kenyan runner Daniel Muturi Wahome answered to questions in a first short interview at the 24th December 2006 in the near of Nyahururu in the Kenyan highlands.

Daniel Muturi Wahome's running times are:
8:52 min. for 3.000 m,
14:41 min. for 5.000 m and
30:00 min. for 10.000 m.

Muturi is training every day for 3.000 and 5.000 metres and also runs 10.000 metres. His running times are very good - as you can read - and so he hopes to find a sponsor in Europe or USA, so that he can make his sport at these places. If you are interested or know how to help him write to moshoem@yahoo.com or to njenga@freenet.de (more) (less)

  • Hallo Njenga,

has Daniel found a sponsor yet?

What exactly is he looking for? A private person who donates something for shoes and stuff or a professional coach who takes him into his training team?

He´s a nice guy, I got to know some Kenyans some times ago and they were like him, very friendly and honest people.

  • Actually Daniel Muturi got some help in Kenya, but what he is looking, is a way or possibility to train and to compete in Europe or in the US.

  • Don't come to America to go to school... GET A JOB! Running isn't the only job you can do!

  • Your comment shows me that you have never tried to get a job in the countryside of Kenya (maybe you have never been there?) and that you have never tried to feed your family with maybe 100ksh a day (that is less than 1 US Dollar). So your comment is very naive. It shows me, that you don't know much about the situation in Kenya. Nevertheless: All the best for you and have a nice day.

    Njenga

(who is not Muthuri the runner)

  • I hope he has found a sponser. If not, I wish him all the best of luck!

  • Unfortunately up to now (Sept. 2008)he has not found a sponsor...

  • I wish I could run that fast! My parents are from Kenya - tieta- ( don't know how it's spelled). It would be cool to go to Kenya.. see outside North America, and learn more about kenyan life!

  • I wish I could run as fast. My parents are Kenyan but I'm bad at running. But I was born in Canada and have never gone to Kenya and haven't trained in that weather. Hopefully he's gotten a sponsor....

  • Hope he fill find a person with a good heart and support him.

    Greetings from Nahum
