Its not the fault of the Display its the fault of the HDMI format itself 1.1,1.2,1.3 every two years a new HDMI upgrrade causes problems with some Players and equipment, the newest Versions of HDMI are not 100% backwards compatibel.
I also think that HDMI is how the Indusrie cheats Customer.
I hate HDMI is a shit format with component you have now problems and i see no advantage in using HDMI only troubels.

So it's the Onkyo receiver thats the problem or the HD-DVD player?
Also how do you like the Pioneer, any problems? Thinking about getting the 50" Kuro.
