Trade Justice Network releases secret text of sweeping Canada-Europe trade deal - part 1

On May 6, 2009, Prime Minister Stephen Harper launched negotiations with Europe toward a Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement that will go beyond NAFTA in ways that threaten public services and local democracy in Canada. On April 19, 2010, the Trade Justice Network leaked the draft consolidated text of the agreement to start a public debate on the effect the agreement would have on a number of public policy areas in Canada.

As Canadian and European trade negotiators gather in Ottawa for a third round of free trade negotiations, the newly formed Trade Justice Network today publicly released a draft text of the proposed Canada-European Union Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA). The network is raising serious concerns about the agreements potential impact on public and environmental policy, culture, farmers and public services in both Canada and Europe, and has issued a set of demands that it says must be met before negotiations are allowed to continue.

I noticed in the Draft Text that there is an Sustainable Development page that embraces the Agenda 21 goals. Research Agenda 21 and see for yourself on that basis alone, in regards to sovereignty and our ability to self govern that this is a bad deal! No Thanks!!!
