BP, GULF, and FINA, were always too expensive and all got taken over by Petro Canada in the early 1980s. Too bad our national oil company won't give us a break at the pumps. While Petro Can is more competitive than it's predecessors it still can't beat Canadian Tire Money.

In Oz, BP took over Amoco in about 1982. And I agree 100 percent with sygo7g.

In the USA BP took over Amoco around 2001-2002.
