Here's my second version of the radio I made earlier - and it's now Re-generative.
I've added an BF240 for the regen, and a lot of caps to keep it in balance without too much interference, quite tricky job, but it ended up working as you can hear, it receives a lot of stations (maybe right when I took the video, as you can only hear a few) but I've picked up at least 10 stations + 2 rtty transmissions within an hour on a indoor string antenna. You can hear that it is very selective and locks onto the stations nicely.

I think I'll make some sound fidelity improvements, call it a day, and put it in a box with several coils & switches to make it receive even more, maybe throw in a frequency counter at a later point.

  • Wow, at 1:09 those are hungarian words! :) Congratulations, nice work!

  • @giganetom, cool! Didn't know that, thanks :)

  • Hay, nice work.

I've been trying to build one myself too, with my personal schematics, but i've failed till now.

Could you please let me know the schematics, or at least a place where i can find some of them? ;)

  • Thanks.

I haven't drawn a schematic yet, but you will find a lot of regenerative designs out there that you can use for inspiration, just search for 1-transistor regen etc. try many search combinations and you'll find one eventually.

  • Parabéns colega, gosto muito de regenerativos....

  • Interesting

  • for AM radio receiver, i want to use 2 transistors as darlington, and then i use amplifier to drive speaker....i want to ask that...when i use simple 1 npn transistor, i use 100k ohms resistor to bias with collector-base......what bias resistor should i use if im using 2 transistor as darlington??? , if i use 3 transistors as darlington??? if i use 4 , if i use 5???
