I wasnt aware of them oiling the string, but that would work I bet(but it'd be gross on your fingers)
I prefer wood axels myself, after the first two strings, they are so much smoother than the coated steel axel( dont spin as long, but they are a lot easier to work with)

This commercial is ridiculously creepy. Especially the kid saying "Flambeau Plastics Corporation" at the end. Oof.
