The geological record only shows two pole axis shifts. One is mentioned in the Bible in the book of Joshua. There has been a lot of magnetic (only) pole shifts where the compass points differently. Arctic mammals have oil glands, mammoths don't. Mammoth's stomach acid remains active for several hours after death. So, stomach foliage or flowers indicate rapid freezing. This may show the Arctic could have been a plush grazing area that was then hit quickly with freezing winds.
