Former Thai PM sees political crisis from Dubai - 14 Apr 09

Thaksin Shinawatra, Thailand's former prime minister, has a new warrant out for his arrest in the wake of recent protests in Bangkok, the capital, that left two people dead and over one hundred injured. Authorities are charging Thaksin and 13 of his supporters with offences including threatening acts of violence and breach of the peace. Thaksin has been living largely in exile since being ousted in 2006. Al Jazeeras Dan Nolan met up with Thaksin in Dubai, and has this exclusive report.

Thaksin Family no need to involved in politic to be rich as they have accumulated enough before he join politic in 2537 (1994). If he didn't step into Thailand politic scene, he could be in the Top 5 richest man in Thailand, may be after Dhanin, Challeo , Charoen or Chirathivat as Malaysian Ananda Krishnan was 2nd richest in Malaysia with US9.5 billon and both of them having almost similar business with Malaysia 26 million population as compared to Thailand of 70 million.

thaksin was found guilty of corruption and abuse of power they had to have someone replace him temporarily, when you elected ppl to your government didn't you trust them to make those decisions for you as to who would be his stand in for the time being.
