Omani women sailors making waves

A team of Omani women has made it to the final stages of the Gulf region's only long distance sailing event. The Sailing Arabia tour will head to Oman later on Thursday.

Despite a history of maritime trade and pearling, Omani sailors haven't made much of a mark at an international level.

Now, the country is training a new generation to compete at the top level of the sport.

Al Jazeera's Joanna Gasiorowska went to meet some of them in Doha.

Oman is part of the Arabian Peninsula. The people who live there are are Arabs who speak Arabic and are mostly Sunni. So, pray tell, what right Iran has to do shit to the Omanis?

Oman is one of IRAN'S provences, I don't undestand why you say omani women every body knows that British and portugase came to Oman since 250 years ago and Iran and Uk and Portugal got fight together and as result of ths fight Iran got victory on both UK and Portugal, so please from now on do not call Omani women, Iran should put Iranian poeple to live in Oman not any more British and Portugease.
