  • Not good, definitely not a good song for Ray to sing. Lowered key and slowed pace really kill this song here. P.C. all the way this one.

  • @afsartori Fair enough. Personally I think Carrack would only work for certain types of songs, mostly any of the slower love songs. Young had a big enough range where he could take both the poppier songs and the heavier numbers.

  • @66hourenergy I can understand that you don't agree with Paul Carrack, but suggesting Paul Young... definitely not! His voice doesn't match Genesis at all in my opinion :-)

  • @afsartori I disagree with Carrack being a good post-Phil choice for Genesis. His voice is too soulful and wouldn't have been able to do well with numbers like Domino or Mama that require more oomph. Paul Young on the other hand, would have been a really good choice IMO. He had a great range and was an excellent showman.

  • @YellowLickilickyXL Hey, why do you hate on Ray!? At least he didn't drive Genesis to pursue pop stardom, then leave the band to do the Tarzan soundtrack. ;) Ray Wilson has a great voice and Calling All Stations is an excellent Genesis cd.

  • @JIF882 That's because it is! It's the same song modified to sound like Ray Wilson's emotionless drone.

  • Genesis would have been better off with Paul Carrack instead of Ray, simply because of singing style.

  • Sounds like original, but slowed down.

  • He makes it sound kinda country-ish.

  • this is slowed down, that's why it's sounds so strange
