Say hello to the real deal here. This is what it looks like when a 5 inch fireworks shell only lifts partially out of the mortar.

  • Holly smokes that was a close one!

  • @L33tP1ckL best thing to do is hit the deck face down with your feet facing the shell

  • Why are there four or five guys out there? Just asking for more trouble with that many. On a show that size we will ONLY let 2 techs out. One main to fire and one as backup. Crazy to allow that many to wander around the site during a display.

  • Looks to me like someone put a 4 inch shell in a 5 inch mortar. That would cause exactly what you see happen here.

  • @MrLamapare Yikes!

  • @L33tP1ckL I know a guy who had crossettes driven into his back from a shell muzzle break! :(

  • Nice video, but that is a underlifted shell. Not enough bp. You can see the rising effeft took fire and the whole damm shell came back down and broke on the bridge. If it was a low break it would have broke at less then optimal height. Muzzle breaks are much more scary. It's nice to have stars flying at you at body height! :( Glad nodody was hurt and it didn't light the rest of the show. Keep up the good videos.

  • poop yer pants time

  • Good thing it had a bright tail so they could see it

  • Having both the remnants of a 4" Tri-color Balls and a 5" Winter Rose permanently ensconced in my back :) there is one thing you must always keep in mind when dealing with a low break, muzzle flash or other errant shell behavior. You cannot, repeat CANNOT outrun the son of a bitch. Don't even try.
