Is there anybody else out there who does not like Mahler? Maybe they'll come out of the closet one day, but why do I find the best description of all of his work in adjectives like "maudlin", "schlocky" and "insincere"? And Järvi seems to have hopped on the bandwagon. Too bad. Also, how does he find people's resistence to Schoenberg "strange"? Is he living on another planet? Most people in the western world don't even like classical music in general, let alone Schoenberg!

Jarvi is a musical genius...and I really am honored to live in Cincinnati and see him and his orchestra quite often. I was privileged enough to meet Jarvi myself last night...and as if being a genius isn't enough, he's an awesome guy!
