UPDATE: Caramel was rescued by the wonderful folks at Brighthaven. Thanks to everyone who helped get her out of the shelter!
Caramel is a 14-year-old orange tabby female. She is a total love-bug but because she is at a public, kill shelter, her life is at risk.
Caramel has had a rough life. Caramel was first at the shelter four years ago. She was adopted when she was ten after losing her previous owner. A few weeks ago, Caramel was brought into the shelter through no fault of her own.
Caramel was abandoned by the people who adopted her four years ago after their home was foreclosed on. If it had not been for the bank realtor who brought her in, Caramel would have starved to death.
Caramel is still very thin, and she clearly has been starved of human affection. She loves to sit on laps and explore new places. She's a great, mellow senior kitty.
Because of Caramel's age, the shelter is concerned she might have issues that require treatment, and she runs the risk of being euthanized if she cannot find a place to live out the remainder of her years. She deserves SO much more after such a traumatic life!
