Hesitation Blues

I love this song. It can really swing. I particularly love the way the Old Crow Medicine Show does it. It is also a good example of why I don't usually show my face in these videos, due to the contortions I make while playing.

Would you mind 'supplying' me with information about the set-up of your mandolin? I am playing around with the action on my mandolin and with your instrument sounding just perfect, I would love to duplicate your action above the 12th fret, just to have some reference point. I will do a little video on my setup. I think that's the best way. Other than showing you, I can just tell you that I set it up as low as I can before a buzz, and then I raise it even a hair more to get some added chunk. I'll add that I can't stand a tight feel, and feel that it's unneccessary. With a very low action, I work less and the mandolin works more. It adds to the player/instrument relationship.
