@ZBlayde I don't think that Manhattan knew about the notebook. Maybe if he had he might not have killed Rorschach, or at least disintegrated the notebook as well.

I really never understood this part. I mean, Manhattan says he must kill Rorschach to save humanity. But, he also heavily implies that humans will go to war anyway. And on top of THAT, Rorschach's notebook is discovered, leaking the truth to everyone. So what the hell was the point of killing him?
