My iPhone 3G doesn't connect to any Wi-Fi Networks whatsoever anymore. I bought it on the 18th of November and for the first week the Wi-Fi worked perfectly, but now.. whichever network i connect to anywhere around the world (secured AND unsecured) it doesn't connect. Notice that first i try to join 2 different secured networks and i enter the password but both give me the same error which says 'Unable to Join the Network 'NETGEAR' and 'Unable to join the Network 'PS3'. Then the only available button says 'Dismiss'. Then i try to join an unsecured network and i get the exact same error. I tried turning on and off my iphone several times, turning on and off wifi many times, resetting all network settings many times also, restoring my iphone a few times. Updating to the latest firmware which is 2.2 ... And after all this i still cannot join any wifi networks, i've tried in mannnny places(some of which i had other iphone 3gs with me to test and they worked but mine didn't).. ANY help would be appreciated!!!
Thanks!!

  • All you guys want to lead a protest in apples wifi issues?

  • If you jailbreak your iphone 3GS 3.1.2 using blackra1n, there seems to be some issues with that jailbreak and the wifi connection. I fixed my iphone by doing a complete itunes restore and doing the blackra1n jailbreak only. Once thats done I override that with redsnow. Then I delete blackra1n from my springboard using cydelete. As soon as I delete blackra1n my wifi singal pops up. It took me 2 weeks to figure this out, and my phone has been functioning properly for 1 month now. good luck.

  • I found the solution, Just take out the sim card.. turn off your phone, take out the simcard and don't put it back.. then place the plate back and turn the phone on again.. It worked for me..

  • the problem is a factory defect. This is because a faulty soldering of the 88W8686 Marvell WiFi chip. You dont have to replace anything just solder it right
