A "quick" graphics package for WJCL and WTGS Savannah, better known by some (some?) as The Coastal Source. Attempts to unify the channel logos, the branding statement, the music, the region.

  • @raymieX Century Gothic was well established on everything throughout their station, including the 'Coastal Source' logo...and I wanted to update things without drastically changing that. However, it needed some kerning and adjustment and careful tweaking.

  • I love this design in execution. I have one nagging concern, as a designer myself who considers you his idol: why Century Gothic for many elements!?

Your 1997 WSAV package was a little better IMO. But for some reason I have a bias to that era of design.

  • @hkfreak They announced a cooperative venture in late October with the Savannah Morning News, I think that when they get that going, it'll be a whole new ballgame.

  • Mm, several years ago you did a package for competitor WSAV and then standardization from Media General just took them over. But this package is totally something for a smaller market, especially the virtual chromasets. How better have things improved on WJCL/WTGS? I've watched the "Making News" series featuring them, so I assume equipment and reporting power has gradually improved. I also think that this package provides another extra boost.
