The first bus I rode was a 1980 Wayne (80-10) which was red tagged in the early 90s due to a hole rusting through in aisle. That school also owned only one other Wayne bought in 1990 (90-9) later changed to (90-8). When they changed the number on bus it was a punishment for something petty the driver did, giving him the Wayne bus which was older instead of his then new Bluebird just switching the numbers on them around. lol

in Somerset, KY the City school district still has about 7 Wayne COE like models ranging from years (1987-1994) they also have Ward, Blue Bird, Genesis, Capender, Thomas, HAYES-Kimo,and the 1961 model Pyro-Genesis GMC bus

Wayne Lifeguard=Best bus ever made. I used to ride Waynes exclusively and really liked them. Now we only have about 5 Waynes in my district. I love when I see Waynes in movies and shows like Duel, Spider Man, Mrs. Doubtfire, Holes and Malcolm in the Middle. All of my Waynes are early 90s, but the really old ones with the Indian Head can be seen alongside LIRR Ronkonkoma Branch.
