@the19th65twofourer Hence, the whole story to me shows the undying friendship, the close bond, not necessarily love, they have for each other. It is touching. Very touching. Friends like that in the olden days is very difficult to find. This is what I draw from the TV series. I did not say you are wrong that it is love. I just feel that it is more FRIENDSHIP than love. Different opinions and ways of seeing :)

@the19th65twofourer Chai Gao was touched about this. He always think of how Sei Lai Lai had treated him through his life and help him through his downs. Hence, when Sei lai lai in trouble too, he would always offer to help her. There is no condition between them. And when Chai Gao dies, the last few episodes also highlight that Chai Gao dies in peace with his "Zhi you" (which means best friend/mate") by his side. He died with no regrets.

@the19th65twofourer I dont disagree with you. But from my point of view when watching this series, I feel that it is a very touching friendship bond. To me. Sei lai lai always help Chai Gao whenever he is in trouble. She always do things for the good of him. He teaches him values that he did not have along the way. It is like mentor as well as friendship.

@MJGenius11 I beg to differ. I think it IS love. But it's a very sacred, uncommon kind of love, because they both know it's impossible for them to get together, yet they still care for each other alot. If I didn't remember wrongly, Sheren Tang said something along these lines in one of her interviews about Rosy Business and No Regrets. It IS love; nothing else can make 2 people do so much for each other.

I find this story very touching. I like the friendship, the bond between sei lai lai and chai gao. It is is not love. Yet both of them care about each other so much. It is like they look at each other in the eyes, and they know what each other feels. No need to say out. Just the look in each others eye. Very good friends. I love it to bits. I like such characters.

I think Chai Gao die. He everytime say, how many 10 years in your life. It is not how long you live, but how you lead your life. This is true. Bruce lee died at his 30s. So what. He is remembered until now. He build a name for himself through wushu mixed with philosophy. Micheal Jackson died at 50. So what. Everybody know who he is. He enter into the genius world record for his highest selling album Thriller. Elvis Presley died at 40s. So what. He achieved so much than a typical person.
