On Monday 30th April, a panel of leading Ministers, MPs, and thinkers came together in the Houses of Parliament to discuss the future of humanitarian intervention, after the conflict in Iraq.
Discussion topics included the recent crisis in both Darfur and also Somalia, the failure of the Left to deal with the arguments surrounding the promotion of democracy and international law, and the future for intervention.
The speakers were: -
Rt. Hon. Hilary Benn MP, the Secretary of State for International Development and a candidate for the Labour party deputy leadership.
Prof. Brian Brivati, Professor of Contemporary History and Human Rights at Kingston University.
Nick Cohen, journalist for the Observer and New Statesman, and author of 'What's Left? How Liberals lost their way'.
Brendan Cox, Director of CrisisAction and co-organiser of Day for Darfur.
Gary Kent, Director of Labour Friends of Iraq.
Pat McFadden MP, Parliamentary Under-Secretary at the Cabinet Office

Benj71, glad you've made the same comment you did on Harry's Place before the videos were uploaded and you'd watched them. All I would say is people will watch the debate, and make their own decision.
Why is this called a "debate". Virtually all the people featured are supporters or members of the Labour Party and broadly agree with each other. It's a sham.
I didnt notice that they were all agreeing mind.... But please bear in mind that the Euston Manifesto is about reaserting the lefts view about interventionalism... This not a debate between tory and labour
