  • shutters are what have to this day kept me from buying an SLR. With as many photos as one can take digitally now, they're bound to screw up much faster than ever before. I want an SLR CMOS (or foveon) camera with interchangeable lenses. Preferably one that comes with a set of adapters (standard) that can allow you to cross-fit lenses from any manufacturer.

  • True, though shutters can take a ton of pictures before they ever wear out.

Ie: the 350d I have has taken about 47000 pictures, and its shutter hasn't had any problems yet, though its nearing its rated shutter life of 50000 shots, if you only take a few shots per week the shutter could last you years. And theres lots of anecdotal evidence of shutters lasting way above their max shutter life.

  • interesting. thanks for your feedback. I didn't realize the ratings were so high. By the time i took that many photos the next generation of sensors or processors would already be out. I still say the fewer moving parts, the better. Thanks.
