A rare piece of footage of formula 1 driver Elio de Angelis as he plays the piano on German television in the summer of 1985. A song written by himself, as far as I've read. Thanks to Steve Chase, check out his site about Elio:

If you're wondering what the tv host says: "At the white piano: Elio de Angelis! The carts are coming around, I think we have to turn down the sound a little over there because now, Elio de Angelis will show us at the piano that he is not only a great man on the track! Here you go!"

  • i had horible day and somehow i tapped his name and this video came out. i totaly fell for this piece listen it over and over felling much better. thanks man and RIP

  • Yeah I just read my comment again and it was very badly said - my apologies to his fans. By all accounts he was a nice guy. What I meant was even though he was killed youngish - he still had a better life than most so he was lucky in life - you could say the same of Senna. All F1 drivers are special - even the "monkeys at the back" as Lewis Hamilton calls them.

RIP to all those who died!

  • @formulecocotier Elio wrote this piece, he could compose too.

  • Does anyone know what piece this is?

  • Not only was he a great driver and man, but he was also an excellent pianist. This song is lovely.
