  • the most advance jet at the competition, but the mig-35 is the most maneuverable,so its a tough decision for india, but the mig-35 is clearly on india's mind right now,its cheap n probly can be upgraded wit modern avionics to match future threats, but those avionics n datalinks must be from the west,so buy a ruski airframe n incorporate western avionics on it,that seems like a good deal ennit, eurofighter can be upgraded too,but its too expensive me thinks,u can get 3 migs wit only 1 eurofighter..

  • you are correct. India would prefer a Russian Airframe and Western Avionics.

That being said, India's trust with Russian products is decreasing. Unfortunately, selecting a Russian plane will give them very little political edge.

In India, the Mig's are tainted. All Mig's have had some troubles. Sadly, The "Tainted Mig's" brand follows Mig-35 as well.

All that aside, Mig 35 and Typhoon are what I would say the best planes in the competition right.

  • The EF should not be underestimated . At the Typhoon Meet 08 in Spain shown in this Vid, 7 EF fighted in a skirmish against 27 other planes among others F-18s,F-16s, Harriers II,Tornados etc..The seven Typhoons scored 27:0!!

  • No use of this video right now... with it's current title.

  • F-35 is cheaper and better than this, so probably that.

  • Rafale for the win, in every dogfight, the Rafale won against Eurofighter.

There is a marine version of Rafale and no one for the Eurofighter.

The Rafale cost less than Eurofighter.

The hour price is about 35 000 € for Rafale and 70 000 € for Eurofighter.

Eurofighter needs more technical support for every flight than Rafale.

In every competition, the Rafale get a better mark than Eurofighter.

In Swiss, Rafale get 8/10, Typhoon 6/10 and Gripen 6/10.

    Best choice = Rafale.

  • can somebody tell me the name of the music which plays from 3.10 in this video pls...?????

  • the EF is great and i think IAF shud buy EF but the Rafale meets our needs better i think the IAF will be mad enuf to get rafale

  • I think that the decision is just politics so India risks to choose the typhoon because there are several countries in the buissness nevertheless the rafale is better

  • @techdefined can you precise what kind of F16 ? F18 ? tornado ? Harrier ?

  • @rajug063 eurofighter isn't a good bomber at this time....

  • @PassionateIndia i've heard india has already bought some mig29k...then they'll have an european one soon (Typhoon or rafale)...then they'll have the T-50....

  • Latest today (26 April 2011) is that Ministry of Defense down selected Eurofighter Typhoon and Dassault Rafale. Teens, Mig and Gripen out. Bye, bye teens.
